Focused on food!

This was quite a morning. The light, the river and then this Red-breasted Merganser swimming by the shore was just a wonderful moment I was not expecting. This subject is not usually in our area that time of the year so that was a pleasant surprise. I absolutely love capturing ducks in big waves and even though these waves were not that big but they had that very interesting colour and movement to frame the subject. In this case, because of the wave movement and my camera angle, we are able to see the beak in the water a split second before it dove in.
